On November 13, 2025, NFPA Executive Director Arnie Eby joined other members of the foster care community and the First Lady for the signing of a new Presidential Executive Order, ‘Fostering the Future for American Children and Families‘.
At the NFPA, one of our primary areas of focus is Advocacy, and we look forward with anticipation to learning more about the details and results of the Order over the next 180 days. As ardent advocates of H.R. 579, ‘Recruiting Families Using Data Act of 2025‘ (now passed in the House and received in the Senate), we will be closely following developments around the new Order’s focus on the gathering and utilization of enhanced data about children’s well-being and safety.
We’ll share what we learn with all those that we serve – State Affiliates (CoSA Members), our Members, and the Foster, Adoptive and Kinship parents providing care for youth in times of need.
To receive updates on this important development, please follow us on Facebook and X, and be sure to sign up for our free NFPA ConnectU newsletter.
We applaud any action that brings attention to the needs of youth in foster care, and are ready to work with our colleagues in the community to bring enhanced support and improved outcomes for these children.
Get Involved
We encourage you to read the Executive Order, to closely follow how it develops, and to actively be in contact with your Congresspersons and Senators to let them know how important this order is to the lives of children in foster care. We would also like to share the Family Focused Treatment Association‘s statement about the event and Executive Order.
