    Tennessee Walk Me Home - Nashville

    The 7th Annual Walk Me Home 5K Walk/Run is sponsored by the National Foster Parent Association (NFPA) in partnership with the Tennessee Foster Adoptive Care Association to raise awareness of the 8,136 children currently in foster care in Tennessee, to promote fostering and adoption, and most importantly raise funds for the Walk Me Home Enrichment Fund, which provides Tennessee foster children the opportunity to receive financial assistance for a variety of special needs and activities, such as camps, musical instruments/lessons, school/church trips, and medical assistive devices.

    Registration: 8am
    Walk/Run: 9am
    Parking: State Parking Lot #8, enter from 5th Avenue N (between James Robertson and Jefferson)
    Fun for the whole family with free live music, children’s activities, and snacks!
    We recommend bringing sun protection (sunscreen, hat, umbrella)

    Registration is $20* for people 13 years and up, which includes free t-shirt.
    Children 12 and under walk free.
    *Get a FREE registration if you raise at least $20 in donations through a Donation Page or Team (you will be contacted via email about your free registration once you qualify)

    To Register: Click the REGISTER button (Use this if you want to walk/run without fundraising or if you aren’t raising $20 in donations). If you need a shirt other than size listed contact Myra Cooper at 615-405-4692 or mcoop6180@gmail.com.

    To create or join a Team: Click the REGISTER button, click I registered offline and need to create a fundraising page, create a First Giving account (if new user), before creating or joining a team you must create a fundraising page then you can either search for an existing team to join or click “Would you like to start a new team?” After creating a Team, you will be asked to create a Donation Page. You will then need to log back in and Join your team.

    To create a Donation Page: Click the REGISTER button, click I registered offline and need to create a fundraising page, create a First Giving account (if new user), click “I don’t want to join a team.”

    To Donate only: Click on any of our participants below and donate to their page.

    To fundraise offline, contact Myra Cooper at 615-405-4692 or mcoop6180@gmail.com.

    Together we can help these children walk home to a place they belong!

    Clark County 3rd Annual Walk for Foster Care.  Registration begins at 10:00 AM and the Walk will begin at 12:00 PM. You can now create your own Fundraising and or team. You can register for the Walk online or click register offline and create your fundraising page and get friends and family to donate or join your team.

    NFPA Board of Directors conference call. 

    The conference call meeting starts at 8:00 PM Eastern time / 5:00 PM Pacific time and and typically runs about one hour.

    NFPA members are welcome and encouraged to join the call as a visitor. 
     
    Please contact NFPA at sschafer@nfpaonline.org for the call-in number at least two days prior.  Please note that visitors may join the Board of Directors call but they may not actively participate.  If you would like to speak to a specific agenda item, please inform the chairman at the beginning of the meeting.

    Learn more about the NFPA National Virtual Walk Me Home.

    Join the National Foster Parent Association and our other national sponsors Centene Charitable Foundation and AdoptUSkids in celebration of National Foster Care month by taking part in Walk Me Home ……to the place I belong. There are many walks taking place across the US and we ask that you support the ones in your area. For those not near a Walk we are giving you the opportunity to support Walk Me Home by participating in a Virtual Walk on May 24th, 2014 in your own home town, park, running/walking trail ect. Where ever you choose. This will be a National Event for foster care and adoption that you can be a part of.

    We are asking each person who registers to create their own fundraising page and invite friends and relatives to donate to it. We are asking each person to set a goal of $100 for you page. As you register you will be given the opportunity to create or join an existing team. Proceeds from this Virtual walk will go to support the National Foster Parent Association’s efforts to support and advocate for parents and children all across the US. A portion will also be used to support the National Foster Parent Association Scholarship Fund.

    We were asked to move our walk from November to May this year to celebrate National Foster Care Month. We had 270 attend last year on a cold misty day. We are setting a goal of 500 to attend this years event.

    • Cancellations prior to May 23 incur a $25 administrative fee.  No refunds will be provided after May 23.

    3:00 pm sign-in and tailgate and walk at 4:00 pm game at 5pm
    Entrance includes tickets to a Rainier's game, hot dog and soft drink!
